Their album's already on the blog, and there're 2 other EPs, but they weren't free, so I might skip those
These guys are one of my favourite Easycore bands. They've opened my eyes to so many things and have given me a new perspective. A Brand New Formula's one of the greatest things I've ever listened to, musically and lyrically
Definitely worth a listen
Enjoy

Re: Latin For Truth
Thanks. Especially useful for those who don't know this band yet, or didn't have these yet.
Re: Latin For Truth
thanks.. seen these mentioned on the forum quite a lot already, i've heard about 5 songs and they sound good but i'll download these now so i can really see what the fuss is about haha

Haha yeah, I'd be the one to thank/blame for their coveragelilysyg wrote:thanks.. seen these mentioned on the forum quite a lot already, i've heard about 5 songs and they sound good but i'll download these now so i can really see what the fuss is about haha
If you're gonna try them, I recommend their album first, just 'cause it's more of what they really are. This stuff's pretty old or new, with slightly different sounds. Lemme know what you think

That's actually just a bunch of random songs from different releases, not sure who put it up like that

oh yeah that's it, haha okay :S
i'll download more when i can but mediafire doesn't seem to be working.. not sure if there's a limit to the amount of downloads you can have or what

That was Omar. In the real old days of the blog their wasn't much structure, and things were posted that didn't have all the songs, or were just a bunch of random tracks. I remember a lot of the old, old posts, were just file2hd rips of myspace songs, if anyone remembers when you could do that.
Re: Latin For Truth
I don't know about you, but here in the states you could only rip at 96kbps transcodes of the original uploads (I believe because of Myspace trying to keep down the file size in order to transfer less data) Unless you used a "proxy" here in the States you could only get the 96kbps tracks.mario-182 wrote:Yeah, back in the days of ripping MySpace songs at full quality
Re: Latin For Truth
Really? That blows.. Years ago I used to be able to rip songs at the uploader's original bitrate, which were still saved on the servers, aside from the smaller transcodesthenoid wrote:I don't know about you, but here in the states you could only rip at 96kbps transcodes of the original uploads (I believe because of Myspace trying to keep down the file size in order to transfer less data) Unless you used a "proxy" here in the States you could only get the 96kbps tracks.mario-182 wrote:Yeah, back in the days of ripping MySpace songs at full quality
Re: Latin For Truth
It worked like that fine for a while, but then in the US it didn't work anymore. We had to used a "proxy" to make it seem like we were visitors from outside the US. That worked fine for a while, then myspace found a way to stop all the file2hd.

yeah i hated when file2hd stopped working
i do have a way to do it but it takes a load of effort
if you download the programme Replay AV 8 you can record the songs from your sound card and you get the proper quality but it means you have to play the whole song. i only do it when i desperately want the song and can't find it anywhere else
Re: Latin For Truth
I use Audacity to do it. Same method different program. I only do this when I don't have a bands songs and want to use them on my radio show. I've also done it when a band says they will send me their songs and after a while passes they haven't then i'll webrip them.
Ripping vinyl is a very similar method.
**Not sure about the program Replay AV 8, but when you record from a source to your sound card you record the source files quality, then most likely the program will compress the file to mp3 again.

ah how do you do it using audacity?
oh i'm not really sure what you mean haha but it basically just records the song as you hear it, it's good just time consuming
Re: Latin For Truth
using audacity is pretty much the exact same way. you press record on audacity and play the song. when the song is over you stop, and can edit it. Make it louder, fade in or out, all those things. take out the silence at the beginning and end. then you export the recording to either mp3 or wav format.
pretty much exactly how you rip vinyl. you have the output of the record player going into the input for you pc. record with audacity, edit a little, and export.

do you record from your mic though :S
cause that's not how you do it in replay AV, well if it's the same i'll stick to that anyway cause this just confuses me haha
Re: Latin For Truth
I'm not a big fan of recording streaming songs. The crappiest I'll go I reckon is ripping 96 KB/s tracks

I'm not an expert on streaming music, but i think that streaming music is direct play back of the original source file. so if a band uploads a track at 320kbps the stream will be 320kbps. However when you "webrip", you webrip the sound which is 320kbps. You would then have to compress your recording to mp3 / m4a / wma, unless you keep the file as a lossless format (wav / flac / alac) Which means you are compressing a compressed track which is why webrips sound so much worse.
Although I don't think the majority of people can distinguish a difference between 128kbps and 320kbps Mp3s, or even the difference between lossless files like flac and Mp3.
And when it comes down to it, it isn't always about having great quality music, its simply the convenience of getting to listen to it whenever you want rather than waiting for a release that draws crowds to webrips.
But I for one am generally against recording streaming music as well.
Re: Latin For Truth
Being a bit of a quality freak and IT literate, and having pretty good speakers, I can really tell the difference with anything lower than 160kbps. I don't generally go lower than 192, and VBR is ideal
The more you convert something, the more quality you lose
I think some streaming services keep the original upload, but for low-bandwidth purposes, stream converted/lower quality versions which is what we're usually able to rip
Wow, we really got off-topic

Re: Latin For Truth
same here. I used to only download 192+. then once I started listening to bands that were much lesser known, it became very hard to find their music in higher quality. So now if i really want something i'll download whats available. But i'll stay away from webrips, i'd buy from itunes before downloading webrips.
Honestly I enjoy FLAC (or any lossless) because of it being a lossless format it is easy to convert to anything without ruining the quality. Which is especially good when uploading to a file sharing site that is ratio based. If you rip a cd to flac, you can easily convert it to 320, V0, V2 without much additional work. Upload them all and get more downloads.

Re: Latin For Truth
i really don't understand this kbs stuff
if its the song i really want then i don't really mind about the quality and all of that as long as it isn't awful haha

Re: Latin For Truth
Basically kbps is the bitrate that a file plays at, the higher the bitrate the better the quality.
Generally Mp3s range from 32 to 320 kbps. 320 being the best. Most music sharing torrent sites ( Oink.cd, What.cd, Waffles.fm) Don't allow anything below 192kbps posted.
Most scene releases, downloads named similar to this: Late_Nite_Wars-Every_Other_Saturday-EP-Vinyl-2010-GRAVEWISH the download is always characterized by underscores with the group name at the end. These downloads are V2 Variable Bit Rate, which generally is around 200 - 220 kbps.
pretty much the hierarchy of Mp3 quality is:
320
V0
256
V2
192
128
96
The only time you really have to worry about quality is if you plan on uploading it to share on a website that has rules about quality.
Of course there is a difference between Mp3 quality and recording quality.

Re: Latin For Truth
an easy way to check the bit rate and of your files is this program.
http://en.kioskea.net/telecharger/telecharger-339-mr-questionman
it works really well.
